Integrative oncology can be defined as the rational, evidence based combination of conventional therapy with complementary interventions into an individualized treatment protocol. Medicinal mushrooms such as Ganoderma (ling zhi), Turkey tail (coriolus, yun zhi) and Cordyceps (dong chong xia cao) have used to modulate the immune system and improve the quality of life of cancer patients. Learn which mushrooms reduce the toxic effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy and which have activity against breast and prostate cancer cells, and which can improve drug outcomes.
